How many resident evil movies are there? : The Resident Evil franchise began in 1996 with the video game release of Resident Evil.

The story follows the Umbrella Corporation, a pharmaceutical company that creates biological weapons. These weapons mutate the users and create zombies.

The games and movies follow different characters fighting against the Umbrella Corporation and trying to survive in a world full of zombies.

How many Resident Evil movies are there?

There are a total of six chapters in the Resident Evil Movies. As of 2020, there are six main Resident Evil movies. The first movie, Resident Evil, was released in 2002.

It was followed by Resident Evil: Apocalypse in 2004, Resident Evil: Extinction in 2007, Resident Evil: Afterlife in 2010, Resident Evil: Retribution in 2012, and finally, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in 2016.

The first Resident Evil movie came out in 2002. It was directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and starred Milla Jovovich as Alice, a member of an elite commando unit who is sent to investigate the Umbrella Corporation, a pharmaceutical company that may be behind a deadly virus outbreak.

The movie was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $100 million worldwide.

The second Resident Evil movie, Apocalypse, was released in 2004. Once again directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, the movie picks up where the first one left off, with Alice and her team trying to stop the Umbrella Corporation from unleashing a deadly virus on the world.

The movie was not as well-received as the first one but still did decent business at the box office, grossing over $50 million worldwide.

The third Resident Evil movie, Extinction, was released in 2007. This time, the franchise went in a different direction, with Anderson handing directing duties over to Russell Mulcahy (of Highlander fame) and Jovovich reprising her role as Alice once again.

The plot revolves around Alice leading a group of survivors through a desert wasteland in order to find a safe haven from the Umbrella Corporation’s zombies. The movie was a modest success, grossing just over $150 million worldwide.

The fourth Resident Evil movie is Afterlife, which was released in 2010. Once again directed by Paul W. S. Anderson.
