1. Lego Lord of the rings
If Tolkien purists were ever to smack about the amount of time, Peter Jackson compressed the books in the three movies (they’re appendix detailed), So the hair in his nostrils would actually vacuum up how corners were supposed to be cut for Lego Lord of the Rings.

But while the game is a bit of a SparkNotes journey to Mordor, it has so much production and iconic moments made with so much honesty that you’re unlikely to care.
From Bag and Back, the entire journey is here with lines and original scores pulled from the movies. From here on Traveller’s Tales took more risks in its design, but Lego Lord of the Rings is still a solid adventure.
2. Lego Jurassic world | The Best Lego games
Lego Jurassic World isn’t the most well-rounded of Traveller’s Tales adventures, but thanks to the power of its co-op gameplay and slapstick comedy.
It wraps four Jurassic movies into one game and follows them faithfully — which means there’s far less combat here than in other licensed titles.

It makes sense, in fact, considering most of the movie is about humans trying to survive a close encounter with the genius of dinosaurs.
3. Lego Pirates of the Caribbean
The loud spectacle of a cutlass fight was always going to translate well to a video game. Lego Pirates of the Caribbean takes the action of the first four movies and turns it into extraordinary set-pieces.
Jack Sparrow’s slapstick humor fits in perfectly with the LEGO franchise’s craze, leading to some painfully funny moments — some that aren’t even in the actual movies.

I’m pretty sure none of the characters ever rode a goat in Davy Jones’ locker, but it’s a shame after playing the game that it didn’t make the cinematic cut.
While the lack of dialogue sometimes makes the narrative stick, it’s still a solid entry into the Lego canon. No, not that kind of canon.
4. Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4, 5-7 | The Best Lego games
Technically these are two different games, but they are so good that I am combining them into one game.
All seven books have been turned into a playable adventure that uses spellcasting to blast a dose of fresh air into the Lego game formula – Wingardium Leviosa, for example, is your best bet to reach high studs. Good friend!

Meanwhile, Hogwarts Castle is the ultimate hub world, filled with nooks and crannies to explore with a huge cast of characters.
In fact, JK Rowling’s universe is the perfect scenario for a video game set and these two Lego titles will please Potter superfans and casual gamers alike.
5. Lego city undercover
Grand Theft Auto is widely regarded as one of the most popular gaming franchises of all time, but it has a lot of, well, naughtiness.

Lego City Undercover is the family-friendly answer to that, but it somehow still retains a handful of charm without the adrenaline to anesthetize that you’d expect from a GTA-esque experience.

This is largely thanks to how it pays homage to crime movies like Goodfellas, without explicitly alienating any established franchises.
The sheer scale of the world leaves room for a lot of exploration after you finish the main 10-hour campaign, and in 2017 they even introduced co-op drama.
6. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
There are many Lego Star Wars games to play (and there will be more in 2020 with the arrival of the Skywalker Saga) but The Force Awakens is the most recent and has given Lego games the same vitamin boost as it did Star Wars Universe.

The story is skillfully woven, the climactic story handles the beats with ease and juxtaposes them with some cleverly irreverent humor.
The best thing about Force Awakens though is its lip service to fans; It hides in characters from the original trilogy, and even fills in plot holes from the film – like Poe actually picking up on his Admiral Akbar rescue mission.
7. Lego: The Incredibles | The Best Lego games
Each unique capability in the Parr family makes for excellent-level design fodder. In Lego: The Incredibles you’ll need to repeatedly switch between Elastagirl’s stretchy limbs and, say, Dash’s supersonic speed to make it through tricky platforming puzzles.
There’s also a brand new addition in the form of Group Build, where Parrs must work together to build the giant, complex Lego structures in the game.

It’s not overwhelming, but it’s a nice touch that acknowledges that these games are ultimately a virtual mirage of the physical Lego building kids have been doing with their parents for years.
8. Lego marvel superhero
2013 was the peak of Marvel Mania. The Avengers hit theaters a year ago, and Traveller’s Tales released the Lego Marvel superhero.
It’s a beautifully constructed love letter to the Marvel universe, which boasts hundreds of characters and locations from the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and more.

Between missions, explore Lego Manhattan, which spans from the Statue of Liberty to the X-Mansion past Harlem, to the giant Shield Helicarrier that hovers over the East River.
The open world is expertly created, and packed with enough wit and warmth to keep you entertained for hours.
9. Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes
After making Lego games for seven years, in 2012 Traveller’s Tales tried a few things to shake up the formula with Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes.
Earlier there was a full voice cast. Until then, silent heroes were always played for laughs, but fresh new actors brought life to the plot that wouldn’t have come otherwise.

DC Superheroes was also the first Lego game to feature an open world, which gave players the entire city of Gotham to explore.
There were some early problems getting these two additions to work smoothly — the minimap, for example, needed some polish — but it was a huge step forward in the history of the franchise.
10. Lego dimensions | The Best Lego games
It’s unusual for a game to just put your controller down and not play it, but that’s why Lego Dimensions is so good.
Players use real-life Lego Piece physical toys which, when placed on a special base, enter the game and can be used in the virtual world.

It was Lego’s first foray into the toys-to-life genre, which is largely played with by mixing the franchise into a delicious soup. It’s a pleasure to watch the DC universe mesh with Lord of the Rings and watch Batman defeat Sauron with the Bat Signal.
You can tell that fans of real pop culture easily find this game weaving together The Simpsons, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Portal, and Doctor Who, affectionate enough to not take the whole thing too seriously. With ribbing, Lego Dimensions is a great toy, but it’s also a great game.
