NCC FULL FORM: NCC has been started mainly for school and college students. Those candidates who take admitted to NCC are given training by the Navy, Air Force, and Army.

After India got independence in 1947, there was a great shortage of soldiers in India and to overcome this shortcoming, Pandit Hriday Nath Kunzru ji, presenting his suggestion, asked for the creation of a national-level military student body in the country, a few months later, on 16 April 1948, the National Cadet Corps was established.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a voluntary organization in India that basically recruits cadets from all high schools, colleges and universities across the country. The NCC provides basic military training in small arms and parades.

The National Cadet Corps is a tri-services organization created in India, consisting of the Army, Navy and Air Force.

What kind of training is done at NCC?

NCC gives its cadets many opportunities to participate in various activities so that they can gradually transform themselves into better people and be able to tackle their challenges.

NCC is associated with the branches of the three armed forces of Indian ARMY, NAVY and AIR FORCE. If you enroll your name to become a cadet in Army NCC then all your training activities will be related to ARMY. Similarly, if you go for NAVY or AIR NCC then your complete training will be there accordingly.

Many students say that a person who joins NCC does a lot of physical activity, but in reality, physical exertion is only a small part of NCC.

Being an NCC cadre you perform activities like singing, dancing, instrument playing and acting on stage and sometimes you have to organize them as well.

The activities done in NCC inculcate the spirit of never giving up in you. NCC makes you optimistic and instills a lot of confidence in you.

NCC has divided the activities into all these sections. All these activities will be done during your training period of 2 or 3 years.

Benefits of NCC Certificate

NCC students are given priority in state and central government appointments.

64 seats are reserved in the Indian Military Academy for the students who have a certificate of NCC

For NCC students, there are 6 vacancies in every Navy course and a 10 percent discount in Air Force in every course.

Students who have NCC B or C certificates do not have to give a written exam for CDS in the Short Service Commission.
