Ovo is a browser-based 2D platform game developed by Dedra Games and released on August 19, 2021. The game focuses on precision movement, timing, and spatial awareness, requiring players to jump, slide, and avoid obstacles to complete each stage. Its gameplay design emphasizes momentum-based movement and level mastery rather than combat or story elements.
Ovo follows a level-based progression system that gradually introduces new mechanics and environmental challenges. The minimalist art style and smooth frame rate contribute to its clarity and accessibility on web browsers and mobile devices. Despite its simple visual presentation, the game is known for its increasing difficulty and demanding platforming sequences.

How to play Ovo online
To play it, you must quickly execute two core actions – Jump and Slide/Dive – to maintain your forward momentum and avoid obstacles. The gameplay focuses on chaining these moves in quick succession to maintain your speed tier.
Controls
- Move Forward: → Arrow key
- Move Backward: ← Arrow key
- Jump: ↑ Arrow key
- Go Down / Crouch: ↓ Arrow key
Note: Only arrow keys work in this version. The WASD keys and spacebar are not functional.
Pro Tip
Keep your momentum! Many jumps require you to build up speed before leaping. For example, in Level 5 “Hellish” – one of the most challenging levels – you must walk, jump, slide down, and immediately jump again with perfect timing to reach the final point and complete the level. Speed, rhythm, and timing are key to victory. Momentum-based sequences become increasingly important in later levels.

If you enjoy Ovo’s high-skill, precision-focused gameplay, these alternatives deliver a similar experience:
- Vex Series: Stick-figure platformers known for saw-blade traps, wall jumps, and fast-paced “acts.”
- Stickman Hook: Focused on swinging physics and continuous motion, rewarding momentum-based play.
- Geometry Dash: A rhythm-based precision platformer demanding frame-perfect inputs and memorization.
- Run 3: An endless runner with gravity-flipping mechanics that add spatial strategy and continuous challenge.
