This ranking is not merely based on the number of airplanes.

Rather, the modernity in the Air Force is found in terms of the capability of logistical support, attack, defense and future procurement.

In this scenario, the Indian Air Force is number three after America and Russia. Whereas the ranking of China having more aircraft than that has come down to India.

1. The United States Air Force

WDMMA has given 242.9 TVR to the US Air Force. It has 5209 aircraft. Out of this, 4167 aircraft are ready for any situation at any time.

The US Air Force comes first in the ranking of 124 countries.

It has 1976 fighter jets to attack, 1692 aircraft in support, and 1541 aircraft for training.

In the future, US is going to buy 2419 more aircraft. It has 152 bomber aircraft. There are 213 helicopters and 677 transport aircraft.

2. Russian Air Force

Russian Airforce has got 114.2 TvR. It has a total of 3829 aircraft. Out of this, 3063 are ready to fly at any time.

Russia has 1507 attacks, 1837 support, and 485 training aircraft 820 aircraft are to be inducted in the future.

2. Russian Air Force

It has 125 bombers. There are 194 Close Air Support Aircraft, 1364 Helicopters, 387 Transport Aircraft, and 19 Refuelers Aircraft. There are 67 aircraft for special missions.

3. Indian Air Force

Out of this, 1316 aircraft are ready for deadly attacks or war at any time. India has 632 attacks, 709 support, and 304 training aircraft.

In the future, 689 aircraft will be bought or built. It has 438 helicopters. There are 250 transport aircraft, 7 refuelers and 14 special mission aircraft.

4. Chinese Air Force

China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force has got 63.8 TvR. It has 2084 aircraft. Out of this, 1667 aircraft are active at any time.

China has 1453 attacks, 370 support and 261 training aircraft. For the future, China is not making any aircraft at the moment neither is buying.

Therefore its ranking has gone down to India. China has 120 bombers. There are 65 helicopters, 238 transports and 3 refuelers.

There are 64 special mission aircraft. China is also behind India in terms of refueling.

5. Japan Air Defense Force | Top 10 Air Force in the World

The Japanese Air Force has got 58.1 TvR. In total, it has 779 aircraft. Out of this, 623 aircraft are active at any time.

Japan currently has 279 attack, 165 support and 335 training aircraft.

Apart from this, Japan will buy or make 189 aircraft in the future. It has 67 helicopters, 42 transports, 6 refuelers and 50 special mission aircraft.

6. Israel Air Force

The Israeli Air Force has got 58 TvR. It has a total of 581 aircraft. Out of which 465 are always ready for war at any moment. Japan has 251 attacks, 176 support and 154 training aircraft.

In the future, Japan is going to add 68 more aircraft. It has 128 helicopters, 15 transports, 10 refuelers and 23 special mission aircraft.

7. French Air Force | Top 10 Air Force in the World

The French Air Force has got 56.3 TvR. It has a total of 658 aircraft out of which 526 aircraft are ready for flight at any time.

It has 232 attack, 206 support and 220 training aircraft.

10. Italian Air Force | Top 10 Air Force in the World

The Italian Air Force has got 51.9 TvR. It has a total of 506 aircraft. Out of which 405 are ready at any time.

It has 185 attack, 124 support, and 197 training aircraft.
